FRANCE IN SYRIA.
SLAUGHTER OF INHABITANTS,
PARIS, May 10. A message from Jerusalem states that a fierce battle took place between the Druses and the French in the Midau quarter. Damascus. Tiie Druses transformed houses into fortresses, after removing women and children, and so compelled the French to bombard Midan. Fifty rebels were killed.---(A. and N.Z.)
