INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS.
AUCKLAND DISTRICT, XO. 2.
The annual meeting of the Auckland District Lodge, No. 2, 1.0.0.P.. X.Z., was held on Wednesday at the 1.0.0. F. Hall, > Pitt Street. Auckland. Bro. A. I. Guy, I P.DXj.M., presided over a large attendance, the lodges ot" the district being represented by strong delegations. Bro. H. G. Adams, P.D.D.G.M., district secretary, presented a statement of accounts and balance-sheet for the year ended March 31. 1026. He referred to the operations of the hospital fund, which showed that the subscriptions received during the year totalled £061 10/ and claims paid for hospital maintenance of subscribers amounted to £700 11/4. The cost of administering the fund was £22 11/6. The district had received a visit during the year from Bro. C. F. S.. Glasgow, Grand Sire of the -Grand Lodge \of Australasia, and had tendered a reception to Bro. D. Roy Cooper, of this cit.v, on. his installation to the office of Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Xew Zealand. -s Considerable discussion took .place regarding a suggestion to form an 1.0.0. F. sports association to' further the holding of interlodge competitions' in both outdoor and indoor sports. . A strong committee was set up to formulate a scheme and regulations to govern same.. Motions to enlarge the committee administering th. ehospital .fund were defeated. The election of .district officers resulted in the return of. the. following: District secretary,. Bro. H. ;G!
