ONEHUNGA METHODIST CIRCUIT.
The quarterly meeting ot the Onehunga Methodist Circuit was held last night. The Rev. G. S. Cook, who presided, received a cordial welcome home after a year's absence from the circuit. Mr. Cook gave a brief account of his holiday In other lands. A vote of condolence was passed with Mr. A. J. Pople and his family on the death of his brother. The chairman stated that the leaders' meeting was about to make the annual revision ot the members' roll, therefore the usual quarterly return were hot available. The Income for the quarter was £200 18/. Mr. Pople said there had been some extra expenditure of £30 or more during the quarter. However, there was a credit balance of £18 12/3. Mr. T. Moor reported 270 scholars and 33 officers and teachers in the Onehiinga school. Permission was given to the teachers to prepare plans for Increased accommodation for the primary department. There was no report from the Penrose Sunday school. The chairman expressed regret that the time of holding services at Mangcre had been changed during his absence. The change -had been detrimental to the attendance, besides losing the services of the organist.; It was decided to hold Sunday evening services only and discard the morning services. . Mr. Cook also remarked that the Wesley Guild had slumped of late, and it was not serving the purpose for which it was created, as It failed to attract the young men and women. A mid-week devotional service or Bible study would be more helpful. The matter was left In his hands to arrange.
