AUCKLAND RUGBY LEAGUE.

THE ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. SEASON OPENS ON APRIL 24. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Auckland Rugby

League, which was held last evening. The chairman, Mr. W. J. Hammill, presided, and in moving the adoption of the annual report (previously published) ' said that the past season had been another milestone of- progress in the continued prosperity of the League, and t3iey were Indebted to the public for increased patronage. The past season had also disclosed an improved standard of play. The game had gone through many courses of evolution, and there had been an advance in the finer points of the code, due large."% to the visit of the New Zealand-team to Australia, and a return visit by the Queensland team., The chairman thanked the subsldary bodies which had been Component parts of the League's organisation, and paid a special tribute to the Junior Management Committee and the Referees' Association.

In concluding his remarks, the chairman touched on the subject of finance, and said that it was proposed to make additions at Carlaw Park, with reasonable accommodations attached. He urged a policy of conservation of the League's ■ finances until their object was accomplished.

Feilding (Richmond), Brown (Athletic), Manslll (Newton), Davidson (City), Longbottom (Ponsonby), Doble (Devonport), Wyatt (Eller-lie), Bell (Kingsland), Young (Mangere), McAneny (Otahuhu), Stewart (Northeote), Deere (Marist) ; chairman, Mr. W. J. "Hamniill; deputychairman, Mr. E. Phelan ; secretary, Mr. I. Culpan; treasurer, Mr. F. Ellis; delegates to the New Zealand Rugby League, Messrs. C. Snedden and E. Stalworthy; hon. medical officers, Drs. Tracey Inglis and Hardie-Neil; ground superintendent, Mr. G. Rhodes; chairman Junior Management Committee, Mr. F. Langstone; finance committee, • Messrs. J. Mansill and R. Doble; grounds committee, Messrs. T. Fielding, W. Davidson, Deere and I.;Culpan. The trophies won by various clubs during the past season were presented by Mr. C. Swlnnerton, who specially congratulated the Richmond Club on winning seven of the fourteen trophies given. Caps were also presented to the winning teams in tbe different grades.

The chairman made reference to the recent death of Mr. F. Wilson, who had been prominently associated with the League game In the Waikato, and it was resolved to send a letter of condolence to his relatives.
