EVICTION UP-TO-DATE.
TEAR GAS USED. A PARIS INCIDENT. PARIS, March 19. The housing shortage necessitated the eviction of a another and her daughter from their rooms at Montmartre by means &t tear gas. The landlord wanted the rooms for his own son, but the woman pleaded that her daughter had been born in the flat, and also that it was impossible to find shelter elsewhere. As they continued to ignore the law the police were called in and gas was poured into the room until the women were compelled to open the door, tears streaming from their faces.—(Reuter).
