Other elections were "deferred until this afternoon. A proposal to extend the annual conference to three days was defeated, but a remit from the Hikurangi Lodge that the contributions for underground miners was excessive and prevented many miners from joining the Order was adopted for consideration by the B.M.C. Details of the financial arrangements in connection with the erection of the new Manchester Unity building at the corner of Hobson and Victoria Streets were considered and approved. It was reported that the biennial movable conference of the New Zealand branch of the Manchester Unity would open at Auckland on April 12 next.
