5 » $ DOMINION CONFERENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Thursday. The Methodist Conference was continued to-day. The Home Mission Board presented a series of spiritual advanc* resolutions. The Rev. Walker presentee a report on military and naval affairs It was decided to recommend that th< Rev. H. L. Blamires should be appointee a chaplain of the second-class. Permission was given to the Rev. A Peters to visit England during the year It was decided to appoint an assistan to the president, who shall be paid h* a grant in equal proportions from thi Home Mission: and contingent funds. The Stationing Committee recom mended that the following should be th circuits to take ordained ministers i: the following order:—Opotiki, Inglewood Hokitika and Eketahuna. The conference appointed the Rei Rugby Pratt as connexional secretary i succession to the Rev. S. Lawry. Mi Pratt Avill take over the office in 1921 The report of the Dunedin Central Mis sion, read by the Rev. W. Walker, supei intendent, stated that the trust debt ha been reduced by £1000 during the year. A tribute was paid to the work of th Rev. W. Walker, in naval and rnilitar . matters. The Rev. C. H. Olds was aj pointed representative to the norther command, the Rev. C. Eaton to heac quarters and the central command, an the Rev. W. Walker to the souther command. Mr. Walker also holds tl position of secretary to tho Chaplain Board. The Rev. S. Lawry presented the fii insurance report. The fund now possesst assets amounting to £19,000, and has bee able to help other funds to the extei of £2200 in seven years. Mr. Lawry ws appointed authorised, representative an custodian of the deeds.
