ABOVE THE ROADWAY.
TRAMLINES IN MT. EDEN. BOROUGH COUXCIL TO TAKE ACTION. It is getting on for two years since the Mt. Eden Borough Council let the contracts for the concreting of Dominion and Mt. Eden Roads, and though the work has been finished some time the Council takes strong exception to what is considered unnecessary delay on the part of the Tramways Department in not attending to the tramway lines which along the greater portion of both roads are either above or below the permanent level.
In the opinion of the Council the lines at present are a constant danger, and long since this has been pointed out to the Tramways Department but. except that in one or two places the line 3 have been lowered nothing has been done, and the Mt. Eden Council feels that the Tramways Department should carry out the agreement to attend to the altering of lines.
The Mt. Eden Council at a special meeting discussed the position and decided to instruct it? engineer to prepare a report showing the different portions of the lines which require attention, and this report will be considered at the ordinary meeting of the Council on Monday evening next.
