CRIMINALS BREAK GAOL.
ESCAPE AT TOWNSVILLE. BRISBANE, February 22. Two notorious criminals escaped from Stewart's Creek gaol at Townsville. They are still at large. The escape was accomplished by the men cutting through the iron bars of the cell windows with a small hack-saw and then lowering themselves to the ground by means of a rope which they had made from their blankets.—A. and N.Z.
