WHITE OR BLACK?
WHO WILL LEAD? BISHOP'S WARNING. LONDON, February 12. "As a result of the war the prestige of the whites has gone down, and it is no longer assumed that the whites must inevitably lead." In these words, Dr. Bardsley, Bishop of Peterborough, warned his hearers of the danger of the "Damned Nigger" doctrine, hnd asked them to stand unselfishly for the brotherhood of mankind. The blacks, he said, were increasing more rapidly than any other people, and the whites the slowest. This must intensify racial problems.
