JUDGE'S BAY.

The last, we hope, ha* not been heard of the arrangements for letting water into the well-nigh ruined Judge's Bay. The City Council -made an arrangement with the Eailway Department by whict water is to jflow in and out, but boats will be unable to pass. The resi- , dents are very about, having an I entrance for - boats, and they have obtained the support of the Harbour Board. Further, the Public Works Department is apparently prepared to ; concede this, for it wrote to the Council asking whether it wished* to alter the agreement to this end. On the ground that a boat entrance would cause the bay to silt up, the Council declined to - make the alteration. Sitting is a question for the engineers. The, City Council should have the-request of the residents, and we hope that they will yet prevail. Something of the old value of this bay for boating should be preserved.
