When play was resumed, Pilkington's team was settling down to hard-fought heads, and* at the 17th bead both were 13 all. From a nicely-cotnpiled head, ' Carlton holding 2, Mcljuyre drew wide, and with his second burnt the head. Smith held the shot with first bowl on' the jack, but Wrightson (Carlton) drew : alongside and lay shot. Wilson replaced his second 'and lay 2 up.
