THE M.L.C.'S OF N.S.W.
STALWARTS TO DIE HARD. MEMORIAL TO THE KING. A CONSTITUTIONAL MATTER. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copjrigttt.) (Received 12 noon.) SYDNEY, this day. A meeting of the State Parliamentary Country party discussed the proposal of the Government to abolish the Legislative Council, and suggested a memorial to the King. The consensus of opinion was that the real issue was not bo much the abolition of the Council as the method adopted by the present Government to make what is a violent change in the constitution of the State without recognising the right of the people to be consulted. An appeal to the King in the form of a memorial is necessary and justified.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
