DORN CHARGED WITH THEFT,
REMANDED FOR SENTENCE. ,'j (By Telegraph.—Own Correspindent,) HAMILTON, this day. ', Roy Charles Dorn, who is awaiting trial for alleged attempted murder o! Muriel Tetzlaff, pleaded guilty to-day tcj the theft of a dozen knives, a suit and a ring, the property of Fow and Co., his employers. Accused elected to bt dealt with summarily. Mr. Wyvern Wilt son postponed sentence till March 3. }h, Tompkins (representing accused) asked that Dorn be given a short term of harii labour so as to give him some kind o! company, as this was preferable to solitary confinement in his cell, suchj being a great mental strain. The magistrate said he had not td consider so much what was in interests so much as what was best in the public interest. Accused was not a novice, as he had been convicted o£ theft two years ago, and his Worship had to consider that he was awaiting trial on a very serious charge.
