OBITUARY.
ADMIRAL SIB E. TEOCBKIDGE. LONDON, January 20. The death of Admiral Sir Ernest C..T. Troubridge is announced at Biarritz. He expired during a tea dance. —A. and N.Z. Admiral Sir Ernest Troubridge was naval attache at Vienna, Madrid, and Tokyo, 1901-04; Captain and Chief of Staff in the Mediterranean, 1907-08; Chief of the War Staff at the Admiralty, 1911-12; Commander of the Mediterranean cruiser squadron. J912; head of the British naval mission to Serbia. 1915; and Admiral Commanding on the Danube, 1018. He was 64 years of age. SIR GEORGE FORREST. LONDON, January 29. The doath has occurred of Sir George Forrest, historian, aged 80.—A. and N.Z Kir George W. Forrest was born on January 8. 1846, at Museerabad. He was a Fellow of the Bombay University, and entered the Bombay Educational Department, lie was census commissioner in i Bombay in 1882, becoming director of records. He held a similar post under the Government of India from l**fll-l!)(10, in which latter year he retired. He wrote copiously on Indian history, and autobiographies of Sir Neville Chamberlain, Lord dive, and Lord Roberts.
