(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Footfall's name was missing from the list of the telegraphed handicaps for the Dunedin Cup. The weight allotted him was 7.C. Count Cavour was never better than he is at the present time, and though he has a lot of weight to carry in the Dunedin Cup, he will take some beating if started. Zaragoza has rejoined F. D. Jones' team and Economist was also brought out to do light work. The latter is still a bit lame though his trouble may not be really serious. C. Emerson will have the mount on Tommy Dodd in the Dunedin Cup. McCarten has been mentioned as Listening Post's pilot for the same race, but a rumour is current to-day that the Solferino gelding has been scratched, though no official notice has yet come to hand. D. Hall, who has been riding over fences in Otago and Southland for some time, is again at Riccartoh. Haze and Nincompoop are both likely to be taken South for the Dunedin Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting. The Australian-bred Tempter and Naughty Peter are the newest aspirants to hurdle honours, and both have shown promise over the pony hurdles at Riccarton during the week. The North Island horseman, C. Browne, will be present at the Dunedin Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting next month. He can go to scale at 7.G, and a horseman of his weight and experience should not want for opportunities. It is unlikely that the Martian two-year-old, Battlement, will go to the Dunedin meeting next month. ' He is to be given time, and will not be seriously tested until next season. F. Christmas did not bring Jubilant back with him from the West Coast, and The Gas Lad filly is now enjoying a run in the pamlopk. W. Holmes will leave for Vancouver with Mr. F. Beban's horses on Monday. The filly from Glen Opal and the gelding from Culross, both by Quin Abbey are good, hardy sorts that should suit the purpose for which they have been bought. J. Olsen is expected to return to Eiccarton to-morrow. It has not yet been made known which stable he will be attached to, X JL 1S nssured of a fair amount of supvo ™ <** meetings in the South Island. dota* n$& Sh m ? y Calclto is once a sain form ß so far hT 9 } 8 ?'
