To-day was devoted to liomneys. and the'sale opened unpropitiously, there being practically no demand, and Jots being passed in This is ascribed to the bad .season which has been experienced and the exceptionally large offering. As the sale progressed ti. e bidding brightened rip and there was a distinct improvement in the tone of the market, prices bein.r quitsatisfactory on the average f or the better sorts. The top price was 20 guineas, paid by Mr. F. Franklin, of Wairarapa. for five shearlings sold on account of Mr. M. A. McLeod. Feildir.g.
