At'a conference of Power Boards' representatives held to-day, the-Mayor, Mr H.- L. , Tapley, M.P., welcomed tlie delegates and stated that tlie conference would not only be of benefit to members generally and of educational benefit, but of great value to hydroelectric undertakings throughout the Dominion. Mr. J. A. Naah (Palmerston North) presided. The following remits were discussed: Otago Board.—-That, in view of the desirability of securing to boards the property in installations financed by these boards, and of the prevalence of the practice, this conference recommends that electrical installations be included by Ordcr-in-Coiincil in that class of articles which, by Section .5 of the Chattels Transfer Act. 1024. shall not require registration to be effective on hire-purchase agreements." The remit was withdrawn on account of the mover explaining that information had since been received that the matter had been covered by legislation. (3) "That the recommendation contained in Mr. Martin's opinion of September 11, 1024 (Pamphlet Xo. 1, page 7, Opinion Xo. 7). on tho matter of advances to consumers for equipment, bn considered." (4) "That appliances sold under Section 00 of the Power Boards Act, IMS. be made a charge on the land." (5) "That power boards be asked to make a practice of exchanging legal opinions on matters of more or less general interest.;" .
