NAIL PUNCTURES TYRE.
CAB CAPSIZED. NARROW ESCAPES AT FOXTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH. Thursday. A scven-seater motor car. driven by Mr. S. K. Murray, of Palmerston North, came to grief near the Foxton racecourse. The occupants had a narrow escape from serious injury. About a mile on the Palmerston North side of the course one of the wheels went over a large nail, causing a big puncture. The car immediately began to slew- across the road. Mr. Murray fought hard for control and succeeded in straightening the car, but before he could bring it to a stop it struck a bank and capsized. Mr. Murray's mother, one of the passengers, received a fractured nose. The others escaped with a shaking.
