ROBBED POLICE SERGEANT.
MAORI BOY'S ESCAPADE. ' (From Our Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. At the Juvenile Court yesterday a sixteen-year-old Maori lad was convicted and ordered to be detained for three years at the Borstal Institute. Accused admitted the theft of two fivepound notes from his employer, Mr. Josephs, of Tauranga, also of a suit case and a bicycle at Paeroa. Senior Sergeant McLean said accused was a great liar, and had ransacked his drawer, extracting a small sum when in custody at Waihi.
