BRITAIN AND IRAQ.
fIBW TREATY RATIFIED. KING FEISAL'S OPINIONS. BAGDAD, January 19. The Iraq Parliament has ratified the new treaty between Britain and Iraq, which is virtually an extension of the former treaty. Fifty-eight deputies voted in favour of the motion, and 20 dissatisfied members of the Opposition declined to vote. The latter left the Chamber, it is understood, as a protest against the brief period which had been permitted for a study of the terms of the treaty. These were only revealed on the previous day. King Feisal, in a speech to the deputies, said that although the treaty was nominally for 25 years, many of its terms could be modified when Iraq became a member of the League of Nations.— (A. and N.Z. and Reuter.)
