There was some schooling , over hurdles at Ellerslie this morning. Mangapiko (E. Stanway) jumped two pony hurdles and Mjg hurdle well. Praiseworthy (Regan) periormed well over a couple of obstacles. *&ile Kamehameha (Rowel went over. four nicely. Some Bother and Finmack jumped ten hurdles, but they did not have any pace on. except over the last two. Xgatea negotiated four hurdles well.

The Wellington Cup comes up for decision to-morrow. Te Monanui, which 18 now at the head of the handicap, is jj°t set an impossible task to win with "•1, though it is a burden that has not been carried to victory since Achilles w °n in 1907 w jth 9.4. Listening Post, *!th 9.0, has been racing well in the South, and has shown previously that w can go a mile and a-half. Grand won the Marton Cup, one mile a-quarter. and is nicely placed with ■ 8 - Royal Divorce has yet to show to over a mile and a-lialr, while ran second in the Manawatu a p on Boxing Day. Surveyor won th\ j- T «nt last year with B.S, and this year "W8.2. He annexed the Goldfields"Cup on Saturday.
