ROWING.

Trial fours and training operations occupied the attention of local oarsmen during the week end, and, with the men in splendid condition, some very fine rowing was witnessed. The club will complete its January programme on Saturday, 30th, when an "ii Home" will be held, and trial eights rowed This class of racing— most unusual in the harbour—is gradually coming into New Zealand, and this scries of races is bound to attract a lot of attention. The- inclusion of the Maurice Caro Handicap Sculls add* much interest to the day's programme, ana thpre is every indication of a record entry being received. Competitors should remember that entries for this event close next Saturday. If weather conditions are favourable, the course will be from the Queen s wharf to the eastern tide deflector thus giving a fine chance of the race being
