BULLETS FLY.
FIRE IN LIME SHED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SYDXEY, January 15. A fire with sensational consequences occurred at Kandos, near Lithgow, last week-end during the progress of a storm, when two inches of rain fell. The water banked up to a shed in Murphy's timber ' yard, in which was stored about a ton of unslacked lime, some timber and 7000 rounds of ammunition belonging to the local rifle club. The water found its way into the lime, producing spontaneous combustion, and in a few minutes the shed was ablaze. Every effort was made by a party of amateur fire-fighters to keep the fire from the cartridges, but without avail, and within half an hour bullets were flying all around. Both firefighters and spectators had to take cover while the explosions continued for ian hour.
