MOUNT EDEN CLUB'S GALA,

50YDS AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIi'.

Something good in the nature of a swimming carnival is promised by the Mount Eden Swimming Club, which will hold the second carnival of its season at the baths, Bellevue Road, on Monday night next. The main attraction will be the 50 yards championship of Auckland. A. D. Adamson, 100 yds champion and record holder, J. Enwright, L. Kronfeld, N. C. Stockley, and other swimmers who are fast over that distance, and who may be counted on to give a great exhibition, will be competing. Auckland's champion distance swimmer, A. E. Baird, 'will take part in the 880 yds handicap, while the other contests will include Misses E. Champion, P. Page, M. Farquhar, all of whom were winners at the Auckland championships. The junior boys and girds will be competing; water polo will also have a place on the programme. .Aa this will be the last opportunity of seeing Auckland's champions in action before they leave for Napier to contest the New Zealand championships, it is Dioped that the swimming public will be present in force to give their representatives a rousing send-off.
