PECULIAR FALSE ALARM.

BUS BREAKS EIRE BOX. ~? (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Crashing against a heavy telegraph pole at the corner of London and Ros* trevor Streets early last evening, a motor omnibus broke tlie fire alarm box, summoning the fire brigade to the scene of its misadventure. The bus was a heavy National, owned by Watson's Bus Company, travelling from Hamilton to Prankton with several passengers. The upper portion of the woodwork of the vehicle was badly damaged, but the passengers and driver escaped practically unhurt. A young man named William Valentine suffered from shock, however, while a woman fainted.

On arrival at the scene the firemen were somewhat disappointed to find they had been dragged away from their evening meal, but they philosophically proceeded to repair the box.
