NOVEL GARAGE SCHEME.

ACCOMMODATION FOR 450 CARS. THE A.A.A. TO INQUIRE. At last night's meeting of the council of the Auckland Automobile Association an Auckland business man submitted a scheme for the erection of a large garage which would accommodate 450 motor cars, as well as providing repair and ser-vice-facilities. The site suggested is in Victorip, Street, between the intersection of Kitchener and High Streets. The estimated cost of the proposition was £100,000. It was proposed that the building would be one of eight storeys, the co'nsi/ruction to be- on the ramp system, which was so widely used in America for garages. . The sections of each floor would be slightly inclined and so arranged as to give access to each landing by driving straight up from the street. The association appointed a special committee t)o investigate the scheme.
