ONEHUNGA WHARF. The engineer, Mr. D- Holderncss, yes terday reported that at the new Onehiuiga wharf pile-driving is now 70 per ;eiit completed. A further 3030 squan feet of decking has been concreted dur ing the period, making 43 per cent t( late. Some difficulty is still being ixperienced throitgh piles driving lowei :han anticipated. The outer shed wil oe commenced at the beginning of th< Sew Year. The demolition of the flftl section of the old timber wharf (405S square feet), has been effected during ;lie period, the old timber piles havinj jeen cut off at mud level by blasting ii >rder to speed up the work. Hot-Mix For Wharf Paving. Excellent results are being obtainec ; rom the hot-mix asphalt plant, a tota )f C5lB square yards of 2-inch paving or the roadway on the Prince's wharf md 5680 square yards of 1-inch sheet isphalt in the sheds having been laic luring the past fortnight. The road vay of the Prince's wharf is now eonv )letetl, and the shed floors well advanced Preparations are being made for tht mving of the central and Westen: vharves. The Western Wharf. In regard to the Western wharf reconstruction and extension, a specificaion has been prepared and tenders called or steel for this work, and detail workng plans are being prepared. Shed 4C ias been made good up to the damaged >ortion of the wharf, and may now, it leeessary, be used for storage'of goods Head Office Building. This building is urgently in need of lomplete renovation, both inside and lutside, the engineer reported, and the xterior work has been put in hand and sill be followed up by the inside work s rapidly as possible.
