ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A meeting: of the Onehunga Borough I Council was held last night. There were ■ present: Messrs. J. E. Cowell (Mayor), -W. : K. Mcintosh, X. R. Gilbert. H. Stoupe. .T. - E. Green, R. G. Speight, W. Kemp, H. Camp- - ling, and A. J. Hipwell. Jellicoe Park.—The Council decided that ; the present entrances to Jellicoe Part, namely, two in Grey Street West, one at the i corner of Quadrant lload and Grey Street, and one In Quadrant Road, be appointed as . the authorised entrances, and that no person ' be allowed to enter or leave the park by i any other entrance. -It was decided to ! enclose this resolution in a registered letter j to he sent to each property owner adjacent ' to the park. Finance.—The general account is overi drawn £10,476 2/5. Accounts amounting to £2846 5/ were passed for payment. License Fees.—lt was agreed, on th* motion of the Mayor, to ask the Auckland . City Council to continue to act as a licensing authority for Onehunga for issuing heavy traffic licenses and collecting the fee« Until March 31 next. - Holidays.— All borough employees of two years' service and over are to be granted four days' holiday on full pay between Christmas Day and the New Tear. Offer Accepted.—Mr. G. Hunter has agreed to accept the Council's offer of £33 for a portion ot a section of land at the junction I, of Church Street nnd Mays Road. 3 Town Band.—The Mayor reported ths , result of the meeting held on November 26 " in connection with the town band. it was * decided to call another meeting of citizens, I to be held' in tbe Coronation Hall nest i Thursday night to further consider the reorganisation of the band. Terminal Points.—The Conncil fldoptpd s the suggestion of the Institute of Surveyors B that provision should be made for certain terminal points in each district, and It was further agreed to ask the City Council delegates to represent Onehunga Council in the matter.
