STATE FORESTRY.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I should like to make an explanation respecting the State Forest Service iii Ratorua. I have just returned ;o town, and have noticed that the wordng in my recent letter on the above subject suggests that there has been no improvement in the methods adopted at Kotorua. This docs nut apply to the forestry work bciiip- carried out, but •eferred to the methods adopted in the mrsery, where, sowing methods and scrim covering of the seeling l>e<ls are 311 the same system as in vogue iwenty years ago. This is the point at issue in the director's statement regarding improved methods of nursery practice. —1 am, etc., GEORGE A. GREEN.
