WIRELESS OPERATORS
STRIKE AND LOWER WAGE. LONDON, December 1. Commander J. M. Ken worthy (Liberal member for Kingston-upon-Hull, speaking in tho House of Commons, said hp questioned the fairness of the Board of Trade taking sides in the strike of wireless operators on merchant ships by suspending the obligations for overseas ships to carry wireless operators. Mr. A. M. Samuel (Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department) retorted: "We would not be justified in enforcing the regulations at the risk of involving (lie poorer classes in bavins to pay more for food tbroti'.i the holding up of supplies.
