ROSKILL ELECTORATE.

(To the Editor.) i Sir.— As a Protestant and elector in Roskill district. 1 would like to enter a strong protest against the methods and tactics adopted by the P.P.A. and the Reform candidate. We are old Reformers and strong supporters of Massey and Coates. but after hearing Mr. Potter's addresses and reading reports of same in the Press. I have come to the conclusion, rather to my wife's disgust, to support Mr. Hall Skelton, as he at least tries to talk some politics. However, after reading Father Godringer's letter in last Saturday evening's "'Star."' all idea of supporting Reforms candidate was ended for both my wife and myself. : nd Mr. Skelton will get our votes. The methods of candidates for Parliament are making it very hard to know who or what party to support, and decent-minded electors prefer to vote for a decent representative even if his views and theirs differ in some respects, and where none are ideal will vote for the least objectionable. The methods of the P.P.A. do not appeal to mc though a Protestant, and more votes are alienated than gained by the scurrilous attacks on other religions. The days are gone when this sort of thing is swallowed by the average citizen, and electors are quite capable of judging for themselves on points of doctrine and beliefs, and don't ne>. I a lot of bigots to point out the way to vote. I am sure Mr. Coates would be the last man to approve of such methods.—l am, etc.. DISGUmED REFORMER.
