THE PRIME MINISTER.
I I ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND. i BUSY DAY'S PROGRAMME. The Prime Minister, Hon. J. G. Coates, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning, accompanied by Mrs. Coates and his private secretary, Mr. F. Thompson. Mr. Coates was looking wonderfully fit, considering the very strenuous campaigning he has been doing. He was warmly welcomed by a number of political and personal friends.
This morning the Prime Minister motored to St. Helier's, where he addressed the Public Works employees at the railway construction camp, and at noon he addressed a gathering of railway men at the Newmarket Workshops. He spoke at Mangere in the afternoon, and at 0 o'clock is to attend a dinner tendered him by the members of the Battalion, Auckland Regiment, of which he was major during the war. From this function, Mr. Coates will motor to the Foresters' Hall, Onehunga, where he will deliver an address, after which ho will hasten to the big public meeting at the Town Hall, where he is expected to take the platform at 5.50, after preliminary addresses have been given by lesser political lights of the Reform party.
An official of the local branch of the Reform League stated to-day that admission to the Town Hall will be without ticket, excepting for the platform, and Grammar School boys, who will be accommodated in the* top gallery.
