SPANIARDS IN MOROCCO.
CIVIL REGIME BEGUN. SOME DESPERATE RIFFS. (By Cahle.—Press Association. —Copyright.' LONDON, November 1. Reuters special correspondent at the Spanish headquarters at Albucemas, Morocco, states that extensive civil townships, with shops of all kinds, are springing up there. At Calequcmadoon, a neighbouring island, the foundation of a theatre, .in abattoir, and public gardens, have been laid. Electric light has been installedA civilian newsboy visits the Spanish front line every day. Three Rids on Monday night crept up to the headquarters of the Spanish Tnfantry Brigade and shot the staff cantain, a subaltern, and a telephonist, who were asleep. The Riffs then proceeded to the headquarters of General Snro, killed the sentry and a soldier, and finally shot themselves throe and a-half miles behind the Spanish lines. The correspondent stai-ls that the Spanish casualties at Albucemas totalled 4000 to 5000.— (Reuter.)
