FIRE AT PALMERSTON.
—• , (Ry Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Sunday. A fire occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Working Men's Club, and did a fair amount of damage to the roofing of the building. Three biliard tables were damaged by water. It will be possible to reopen the club on Monday. A large party from the Cosmopolitan Club, Wanganui, arrived during the progress of the fire for an evening tournament. A modified programme was carried on at the rooms of the commercial travellers.
