FLOODS IN TOKYO.
HEAVIEST RAIN FOR 50 YEARS
42.000 HOUSES UNDER WATER.
(Received 2 p.m.) TOKYO, October 1. A rainstorm in Tokyo district caused 42,000 houses to become partially submerged in Tokyo. Landslides resulted in 20 deaths in Yokohama and six in Yokosuka. The rain was the heaviest for 50 years. (Reuter.)
