Sir George Hunter, Government candidate for the Waipawa seat, opened ! his campaign last night at Whetukura, i addressing a well-attended and enthui siastic meeting. He paid a tribute to j the late Prime Minister, and to the Hon. .1. G. Coates for his administrative ability and as leader of Parliaj ment, and dealt with legislation of the j session just closed. An enthusiastic j meeting passed a unanimous vote of i thanks and confidence in the candidate 1 and the Government.
