SUGAR DOWN.
WHOLESALE BUT NOT RETAIL. From to-day the wholesale price of sugar in all grades is reduced in price 10/ per ton by the Colonial Sugar Refining Company. The wholesale price of No. IA sugar is now down to £22 10/ a ton. The last reduction occurred ou July 30 when the price was lowered 10/ a ton. Sugar is now f(5 lower than it was at the beginning of the year. The price was then £28 10/, a reduction of £1 being made in January, 30/ in February, 10/ in March and again in April, and on June 4, £1 ou Jtnle 29; and 10/ on July 30. So far there has been no move ou the part of retailers to alter their prices to the public.
