MOTOR TRADES CONGRESS.
DANGEROUS HEADLIGHTS. A MINISTERIAL VIEW. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day.
The annual meeting and convention of the New Zealand Motor Trade Association and Wholesale Motor and Cycle Traders' Association opened to-day. Over 200 delegates from all parts of the Dominion attended. Mr. G. H. Scott, who is joint chairman with Mr. Treleavcn, welcomed the delegates, including many ladies. Mr. Luckie, Deputy-Mayor, extended a welcome on behalf of the Mayor, who was unable to attend. He referred to the great influence of motor transport on modern life, and said that it has imposed new duties on local authorities for the provision of good, permanent roads. Tlie Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Internal Affairs, referred to glaring headlights as one of the most dangerous of road perils, especially on bitumen. Both parties should dim when passing.
