UNITY AND SANITY. PRIME MINISTER 3 APPEAL. (By Cable.—Frcss Association.—Copyright.) (Received 2.30 p.m.) MELBOURN E, ths day. Mr. S. M. Bruce, speaking at the Agricultural Society's luncheon, steered clear of current political issues. He confined himself to an impassioned appeal for national unity and co-operation between all classes and sections, thus enabling Australia to pass through dark clouds which at present overshadow her, into the sunshine of greater progress and prosperity than ever known in her history.
He deprecated the efforts that were being made to foster class hatred and disunity among the people. He strongly advocated the need of developing Australia's trade and other opportunities. He emphasised the value in this direction of immigration arrangements between the British and Commonwealth Governments. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) PLAIN TALK FROM LONDON. TROUBLE SHIPS BABRED.
