GISBORNE HARBOUR WORKS.
NO TENDER RECEIVED. S_IALL CONTRACTS BY DAY LABOUR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. No tenders were received by the Harbour Board for construction of outer breakwaters, the estimated cost Mug £000,000. At a special meeting this morning the board decided by nine to four to proceed by day labour with small contracts wherever possible. An amendment to confer with the Marine Department on the situation was defeated by eight to six.
