MATAMATA

The annual meeting of ihe Matamata A. and I. Association was held on Saturday night, tlo- vice-president. Mr. S. Gunn, presiding. Reference was made to the unfortunate circumstances which had led to the abandonment of last year's show i infantile paralysis epidemic!, and [he worse position iv which it had placed the association financially. An important change in the administration of the Matamata County is about to be made us a result of a motion carried at Friday's meeting to remove the county headquarters from Cambridge to Tirau. The county business has been controlled from Cambridge since the county's formation in lull. It is proposed to appoint an assistant clerk, who will reside in Tirau permanently. The Chamber of Commerce has agreed to assist the Waihi Borough Council re the matter of ere<-ting a ladies' rest room on the site obtained by the Mayor from the Department of Justice near file borough chambers. ROTOHTIA. The annual meeting of the Rotorua Tennis Club was held at the Dixieland, when Dr. Hay presided. The report nnd balance sheet were adopted, the financial statement showing a balance of assets over liabilities of £S4. The election of officers resulted:—Patron. Dr. Bertram; president. Reed, Ford. Shepherd Ross. Hnlton and Brooker. Dr. Hay moved a hearty vote of thanks to the retiring secretary. Mr. F.
