BOY ORDERED IMPRISONMENT. DEALER'S LICENSE ENDORSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) j DARGAVILLE, this day. ' At the Police Court to-day a lad just ' | over 16 years of age was sentenced to ' a month's imprisonment on five charges of stealing kauri gum and fungus valued lat £19 10/. The magistrate is making application for his admission to an ■ | industrial school. Last month the same ; lad was charged with ihe theft of 12/3, the property of his employer. The case ' was adourned for three months to see ' how he behaved. Within a fortnight ha ' stole gum. 1 j As a sequel to the above case a Dal*' 1 mation named Urlich, a licensed gum •' buyer, was fined 20/ plus costs 7/ on 1 each of four charges of purchasing ' kauri gum from the lad because tho ; lad did not have a selling license. Ha :. was also fined 20/ and costs 7/ for fail- - 1: ing to have the regulation purchase book. His license was also endorsed.
