THE CAPTURED POLECAT.

A T OT THE ONLY OIN~E. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star."). WAISTGANUI, this day. The polecat which was captured near Wanganui has been identified at the Wanganui museum as one of the European species. The fact that it is a female in young is disquieting proof of the existence of others. Publicity given to the matter has resulted in information that several polecats have been caught of late in rabbit traps near Wanganui, and the museum has a specimen captured two years ago. Apart from its weakness for poultry and eggs, it is claimed that the polecat is of value ill rabbit infested country.
