! 'WOMAN GETS TWO MONTHS, THEFTS FROM SHOPS INCREASING. I Sarah Davis Morgan, a middle-aged I married woman, was sent to gaol for ! two months by Mr. J. "W. Poynton, S,SL, lat the Police t'ourt this morning on one jof 10 charges of thefts from city shops. Accused pleaded guilty. Chief Detective Cummings said, that accused went round the various shop 3 and stole the goods, which were valued at about £S. She put them in a pillow case which was sewn inside her over* j coat. Practically every week a shop- • lifter was caught. Such offences were ion the increase, despite the warning! I issued in the Police Court.
