LABOUR DEPARTMENT'S LIST. A decrease of about a dozen is shown in the of applicants on the waiting list at the local office of the Labour Department compared with last week. To-day the total was 181, the number including 57 labourers, 16 clerks, 13 cooks and hotel workers, 14 engineers, fitters and trimmers, and 10 motor drivers. Since Monday the Department sent lti labourers to the public works and found private employment for nine labourers, seven farmhands, two factory horse drivers, a carpenter, gardener, motor driver and sandwichman —a total of 40.
