ASTRONOMICAL SEXTANT.
WILL SIMPLIFY FLYING. (Received 2 p.m.) LISBON, August 14.
Experiments with the sextant invented by Admiral Cautinso in an aeroplane have given complete satisfaction. The pilot was able to disregard terrestrial observations and take bearings entirely by astronomical observations, including latitude aud longitude.
It is anticipated that the methods of aerial navigation will be altered and air travelling greatly facilitaced— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
