,Br Telegraph.—rrpss Association.) DUXEDES - . this day. Mr. Spencer Brent, who died on Monday, was the oldest of Dunedin's lawyers. He entered the service of Messrs. Ifaggitt Bros, in IS7I. and, after completing hi 3 articles, was admitted as a partner. After Mr. B. C. Haggitt died, and Mr. Darcy Haggitt moved to ( hristchurch. Mr. Brent and Mr. L. E. Williams carried on. the firm for a year. Then Mr. Williams died, and Mr. Brent was professionally alone until 1912. when he took his son. Mr. F. S. Brent, into partnership, which lasted till 1920. when Mr. Spencer Brent retired.
