IGNORED.
LEAGUE'S ADVISORY BOARD. ONE MEMBER RESIGNS. In a letter, accompanied with a badge and the unused portion of his vicepresident's ticket, Mr. W. Swinnerton, a prominent member of the Advisory Board of the Auckland Rugby League, tendered his resignation to the Management Committee last evening. The letter did not ment'in any snecific matter which had decided Mr. Swinnerton to resign, but in erneral tPrniF =t:ited that apparently, in view of recent happenings, the League did not now want the advice of the board on matters of I'mporfance. The chairman (Mr. TTammill) said he regretted very much the step taken by Mr. Swinnerion. The latter, in conversation had mentioned that the Advisory P.oard had been completely ignored in the most important movement in the League's history—the decision to register as an incorporated society —nnd he felt that, seeing there was no further iif-e for the board, he would be justified in tendering his resignation. Mr. W. Davidson said that he regretted Mr. Swinnerton's decision. He was sure the League had not intended to ignore the Advisory Board in the least: on the other hand, the committee had always appreciated and valued the advice tendered. After Mr. Mansill had (supported Mr. Davidson's remarks, it wns decided that four members of the committee wait: upon Mr. Swinnerton witli a view to getting him to alter his decision.
