WESTFIELD STOCK SALES.

Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfleld fat stock market our supply of fat cattle totalled 464 head, comprising 173 steers, 278 cows and heifers and 3 bulls. The greater part of the ox beef was of excellent quality. Competition was extra keen and all choice and prime cattle advanced 2/ per 1001b. Extra choice ox sold to £2 2/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, fl 18 to £2; ordinary and plain ox, f 1 15/ to £ 1 17/; prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 15/ to £2; ordinary cow beef, £1 10/ to £1 14/; rough, beef, £1 to £1 6/; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £20/ to £23; heavy prime steers, £16 10/ to £19 10/; lighter prime steers, £14 to £16 7/6; light prime steers, £12 to £13 17/6; unfinished and small, £8 5/ to £11; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £13 10/ to £15 10/; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £10 10/ to £13; lighter, £8 to £10; other fat cows, £5 10/ to £7 15/; rough and plain cows, £3 to £5; 21 extra prime steers from Mr. Edward Allen, Cambridge, averaged £10 12/4; 24 from Mr. Wm. Bosper, Dingley Dell, Cambridge, aggregating £18 13/3; and 18 from P. G. Robertson*, Otaua, Waiuku. averaged £18 10/3. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market cattle were penned in moderate numbers.' Prices opened at fully late rates and showed an advance of easily 2/ per 1001b as the sale progressed. Extra choice ox sold to £2 2/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, £1 18/ to £2; ordinary and plain ox, £1 15/ to £1 17/; prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 15/ to £1 19/; ordinary cow beef, £1 10/ to £1 14/.
